Engagement Photos in Central ParkI’ve mentioned before how much I love photographing Central Park portraits, but I want to take a second and talk about the magical thing that happens when you combine amazing people with an amazing location. Melanie and Devin Duncan are two of the most awesome, kind, glorious people that I have ever met. I had the great pleasure of shooting their wedding years ago, and have also photographed family portraits for them, Devin’s sister’s wedding, and countless other things for their businesses since moving to New York. They are generous of heart and mind, brilliantly intuitive, and gracious human beings. They also happen to be business masterminds and so shockingly smart that it’s occasionally overwhelming. Every time I shoot for the Duncans, it’s a pleasure. Whether it’s documenting small details and intricate product shots for Melanie, or traipsing around the city on a brilliant fall day, I always know that the images we create will be used marvelously in their brilliant marketing pieces and websites. Every detail is always perfect when they put together a photo shoot, and it’s always great fun to be along for the ride. This lifestyle shot encapsulates everything that I love about a perfect Central Park portrait. I love the gorgeous fall colors in the trees behind them. I love that the people in the background give a sense of time and place to the portrait, without competing with the subjects for the eye of the viewer. I love the flawless interaction between the subjects. I love the pure magic of the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 all the way out at 200mm. I love the brilliant late-day fall light on their faces. Most of all, I love the relationship that I’ve built with these wonderful clients and friends, and I look forward to the next time we shoot together!. 1/400; f/4.0; ISO 800; 200.0 mm.
