The Inn at Perry Cabin Wedding Photography

While it is no secret that I absolutely love bright dramatic light on a wedding day, the wonderful mist and mystique of a rainy day has its own particular charm. On this sweet wedding day at The Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Maryland it poured rain all morning, forcing the bride and groom to abandon their plans for an outdoor wedding and to move the ceremony inside. Despite those changes of plans the rain did stop for a brief time and we were able to move outside to take some portraits of the couple on the grounds of the Inn. it is always wonderful when the bride and groom are willing to brave the slightly inclement weather and go outside for their portraits. When I saw these wonderful tall hedges I knew I had a fantastic opportunity to create both a dramatic foreground and background for a compelling portrait. As with most of the images that I shoot of brides and grooms alone together I gave very minimal instruction to the couple before beginning to take their pictures. I find that allowing couples to interact naturally results in more flattering and emotionally realistic photographs than if I stepped in and started posing them in ways they would not normally stand.
