The Library Hotel Wedding Photography

One of my favorite moments during the wedding ceremony is the exchange of wedding rings between the bride and groom. I love seeing the rings that I photographed earlier in the day being placed on the fingers of the people that will wear them for the rest of their lives. I always pay extra attention to this part of the wedding ceremony because I know how incredibly important these moments are. During this wedding ceremony on the rooftop of the Library Hotel in New York City I used my 70-200mm to really isolate the bride and groom’s hands during this part of their ceremony. I made sure that my exposure was perfect for their hands - therefore the rest of the unlit scene darkens down in the background. This pushes the viewer’s eyes directly to the bride and groom’s hands and the light falling on them from above. In my work I am always striving to take the viewer’s eyes directly to where I want them to be in the final photograph and the use of composition and lighting make that extremely effective in this image.
