Mandarin Oriental Soho Wedding Photographers

With so much emphasis put on the bride in much of modern wedding photography sometimes it’s hard to remember that there is actually more than one person getting married at a wedding! I feel that it’s my job to accurately document the day and that includes anticipating emotion, interaction, and reaction from all of the important parties at the event. I am always careful, if the situation makes it possible to do so, to document the individual reactions of the bride and groom during the wedding ceremony. Sometimes the churches have strict rules on where we can and can’t stand, so shooting this isn’t always possible, but when I am logistically capable of doing it I will. At this Mandarin Oriental Soho wedding in New York the ceremony took place outdoors and on a roof deck. I was able to unobtrusively move around and document both the facial expressions of the bride, then the groom. I am so moved by the raw, honest emotion on the groom’s face in this image from their ceremony!. Location: 9 Crosby Street, New York, NY 10013.
