Ciara Renee portrait

This portrait of Ciara Renee remains one of my favorite theatrical portraits that I have ever created. I love that it shows her strength and her grace, while highlighting her extraordinary beauty.

I first heard of Ciara Renee when I attended a 2014 performance of Big Fish, also starring Norbert Leo Butz. I went in a huge fan of Norbert Leo Butz, and left a massive fan of Ciara Renee! She stole the entire show with her bewitching stage presence and phenomenal voice. I knew that I had to work with her! I quickly realized that we had a mutual friend, who put us in contact with each other. Before I knew it, Ciara Renee was in my studio and we were creating some of my favorite theatrical portraits ever!

Ciara Renee has a degree in Music Theatre from Baldwin Wallace University. Her Broadway debut was in Big Fish at the Neil Simon Theatre. After Big Fish, she replaced Patina Miller in the revival of Pippin, playing the role of Leading Player. In 2015 she appeared as Esmerelda in the Hunchback of Notre Dame, first at the La Jolla Playhouse, then at the Paper Mill Playhouse. She currently appears on a television show for the CW called DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Other stars of the show include Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Victor Garber, Dominic Purcell, and Wentworth Miller.

I loved creating this portrait of this vibrant star because she is so sweet, so funny, and so marvelous both in person and on stage. It exemplifies the type of theatrical portraits that I love to create. I hope to work with Ciara Renee again in the future!
