Oheka Wedding Photographer

It is no secret that I love everything about shooting weddings at Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York. I love the expansive grounds with their perfect manicured lawns. I love the fountains. I love the beautiful hedges that line the front driveway. I love the cobblestones that pave the drive outside the front door. I completely adore everything about the light that pours into the bridal suite at all times of day. I love the library, the ballroom - well, you get the idea. At this 2012 Oheka Castle wedding I had a few minutes alone with the bride’s engagement ring while she was finishing up her hair and makeup preparation. I wanted to create something extra special for this particular client so I employed some fun props in the making of this ring portrait. First I borrowed a handheld mirror from the hotel bathroom. Then I asked the bride if I could have a glass of champagne - I was very clear that this was for photographing, not for drinking! My assistant, who was also holding a towel to catch any drips, poured a small stream of champagne over the ring, which was positioned on the mirror. The result is one of my favorite portraits of an engagement ring that I shot in 2012. Location: 135 Westgate Dr, Huntington, NY 11743. Keywords: Huntington (5), Oheka Castle (9).
