What? : Preparations in Bridgehampton at a private home, ceremony on the beach, and reception in a beachside club
Where? The Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club
When? : September 2018
When you envision a wedding on the beach, you wish for certain things. A clear, sunny day with brilliant clouds. A quiet beach. Amazing food, shared with your family and friends. A dance party that spills out onto a back deck, the surf crashing in the distance. Maybe even a bonfire to end the night, if that’s not asking too much? Casey and David got all of that and so much more for their wedding weekend! Labor Day weekend in the Hamptons is always special, and this one was no exception. From the quiet charm of their summer home, to the warmth of their families, to the fire dancers on the beach in the early hours of the morning, this Bridgehampton wedding was everything a beach wedding should be!
Here are a few of my favorite images from their wedding:
This extraordinary couple showed up to their engagement session on a motorcycle, she in leather pants with a wicked smile and hilarious laugh. I have been entranced by this couple since day one, since that session spent on a bike in DUMBO, all the way to their sunny waterside Hamptons bridal shower. I knew their wedding day would be wild and wonderful, and I was absolutely right. From the that’s what she said! jokes flying throughout the bridal suite to the long-into-the-night dance party that was their reception, this couple is joy, joy, joy from start to finish.

When the first email from a client includes the line “I’m literally obsessed with your work showcased on Instagram and would love to work with you!” … well, you know it’s going to be a good time! I am so grateful to the team at the Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club for referring this amazing couple to me. It was a great joy to spend the day with them, their gorgeous son, and incredible family and friends. We started the day at their extraordinary rental home, moved to a charming Easthampton church for the ceremony, went back to the rental home (complete with horse barn!) for some portraits, and then headed to the beach for more portraits, a party, and an epic night.

I have talked long and often about my deep love for Oheka Castle. An outdoor wedding at Oheka Castle is something really spectacular to behold. The sun sets in just the right location over the long lawn, casting a gold halo around the faces of the couple as they say their vows. If you time your day just right, you can catch the last glimpses of daylight as your ceremony ends. It’s a beautiful location to have an outdoor wedding – there truly is nothing like it!
Here are just a few of my favorite images from the day:
This incredible day was flawless from start to finish. From their engagement session to the wedding day itself, Eroulia and Michael were a delight to work with. We began the day at Eroulia’s parents’ house, moved to the church for their gorgeous Greek wedding ceremony, and then went to the extraordinary Old Westbury Gardens for their wedding day portraits. After that it was time to go to Pine Hollow Country Club for a few more family portraits and then their cocktail hour and reception. It was a joyous day full of dancing, love, and phenomenal nods to their Greek heritage.
Lee and Chris’ Fox Hollow wedding had everything a summer wedding should have. Beautiful light, warm but not-too-hot weather, an afternoon spent wandering in a garden, a touching outdoor ceremony, and a vibrant ballroom reception. I am especially grateful to the bride and groom for arranging so much time in Old Westbury Gardens for their portraits. It was lovely to see how important these images were to them, and I hope these do not disappoint!
Lee and Chris are both so vibrant, so funny, and so very lovely. They’re gorgeous inside and out. It was a great pleasure to spend the day with them and their families. From the first emails we exchanged, to their engagement session along the Brooklyn Promenade, I knew these two were going to be a treat to work with. Thank you both for choosing me to photograph your wedding. It was a great pleasure.
Lee and Chris, thank you for having me document your day! I hope your time in Long Island was wonderful, and that you were welcomed back to Jacksonville with beautiful weather!
Guzey and Ali’s event was not my first wedding at Oheka Castle. I shot there for the first time in the summer, and the next wedding I shot there was also on a hot summer day. While Oheka is flawless in warm weather, it’s absolutely magical in the snow. The air was crisp and the light was brilliant. Add to that an amazing, deeply in love couple who was willing to brave the single-digit weather for some outdoor portraits, and you’ve got the perfect wedding to begin the 2015 wedding season!
Guzey and Ali, it has been a joy getting to know you both. From our first meeting in my living room, to your engagement session in Central Park, I knew your wedding day was going to be warm and wonderful – and it was. It so was. Thank you for entrusting me with your memories!
When my mind turns to an Oheka Castle Wedding, I never used to think of Taylor Swift. Oheka calls to mind television and the movies, having been featured in Citizen Kane, Gossip Girl, and Royal Pains. But Taylor Swift? Not until recently, when she took over the Huntington, New York wedding venue to film the video for Blank Space. It was completely surreal to watch the video, seeing places like the Grand Staircase, West Gate Drive, Formal Gardens, and Grand Ballroom, places I’d photographed weddings at for several years now. I was most recently at Oheka for Shella and Jamil’s completely flawless summer wedding. Gold glitter was everywhere, the Formal Gardens were awash with summer sunshine, and a Haitian band played well into the night. I can see why Taylor Swift was drawn to Oheka. There is something so magical about a castle that appears out of nowhere (if you’ve ever driven up to Oheka, you know what I mean!) It was no wonder that Shella and Jamil chose it as their wedding location, as it really is that charming.
Shella and Jamil, thank you so much for having me as a part of your day. From your engagement session in my studio to the wedding, and then the post-wedding session, I’ve enjoyed getting to know you both. Shella, thank you for bringing your wild and fantastic style to every part of your days. I hope you love these images as much as I loved creating them for you!
I had never been to Bedell Cellars before Erin and Lee’s summer wedding. Tucked quietly away in the North Fork of Long Island, Bedell feels like a combination of your childhood backyard mixed with the best of Napa Valley. The quiet beautify of the property paired with with the decidedly un-summer-like weather set the stage for a gorgeous sunset and beautiful evening. I first met Erin through Sari and Matthew. The second you meet Sari, you love her – and the same is true for Erin. They share the same innate sweetness, the same open laughter, and the same fantastic love for their amazing dogs. Erin is so deeply funny, so extraordinarily elegant, and such a tremendous human being. It was a great honor to document her wedding to the equally sweet and lovely Lee!
Aarti and Sarin’s Oheka Castle wedding was, quite simply, a photographer’s dream. From the completely perfect lighting of the Oheka getting ready suite to the impeccable, flawlessly-on-schedule coordination from Lindsay Landman, to the just-right backlight on both the Baraat and the wedding ceremony, everywhere you looked there was a fantastic photographic opportunity. When you add to that the extraordinary warmth of both Aarti and Sarin’s families and the exuberance of their friends it all added up to yet another perfect Oheka event.
Aarti and Sarin, thank you so much for trusting me with your day and your memories. Lindsay Landman, thank you for taking the day into your flawless control and making every single moment nothing but effortlessly smooth sailing. Alex Villegas, thank you and your team at Unique Visions for again illustrating what a wonderful team photographers and cinematographers can make when you share the same shooting methodology!
