This College of Physicians Wedding began in a Philadelphia hotel room, where the bride got ready surrounded by her family and friends. Every wedding day is full of potential moments, and this is one of my favorites. The bride had just gotten dressed. Her mother and father came in to see her, and this moment was the result.
I love Philadelphia weddings. I got engaged in Philadelphia, and I got married in Philadelphia. I especially love a College of Physicians wedding, because the venue is so delightfully quirky.
There is an amazing sweeping staircase up to the elegant ballroom. There is also a collection of human skulls. There is a beautifully enormous room to have a wedding ceremony in, with hardwood floors and huge windows letting in a cascade of natural light.
There is also a real-life mummy. The medical anomalies are right next to the gorgeous architecture, creating an incredible juxtaposition for the extremely discerning wedding couple.
If you’re looking to get married in Philadelphia, and you’d like a venue outside of the norm, a College of Physicians wedding might be just what you’re looking for. It’s a beautiful venue with an incredible staff, and besides….who doesn’t want to have cocktail hour and look at medical specimens at the same time? (I know I do!)
