There is something so uniquely Philadelphia about a Curtis Center wedding. Cescaphe does such a beautiful job with all of its’ Philadelphia-based venues, and the Curtis Center is one of my absolute favorites. It’s located in a phenomenal part of town, and is close to my favorite place to photograph in all of Philadelphia : Washington Square Park. While you do have to obtain a permit for wedding photography in Washington Square Park, it’s well worth it. The green spaces are meticulously maintained, the architecture in the park is gorgeous, and it’s a very versatile area for wedding day portraits. This bridal portrait was taken on the steps of the Second Bank of the United States, which is located in the heart of Washington Square Park. I love the bride’s unique style and dramatic pose. I love how the sweetness of her bridal gown contrasts with the stark architecture of the Bank. I loved everything about this portrait, and this day. We started at the Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, before moving to the Morris House Hotel for the wedding ceremony. The Morris House Hotel is a really beautiful boutique hotel, also right on Washington Square Park. The bride and groom even had a band lead their guests from the ceremony to the Curtis Center for the reception! How cool is that? 1/2500; f/4.0; ISO 100; 24.0 mm.
