One of the things that I love about photographing at the Merion in Cinnaminson, New Jersey, is the drama of the reception ballrooms. At this 2010 winter wedding the bride and groom’s theme was "winter wonderland" and the Merion did an exemplary job of bringing this vision to light. The guests walked into the reception from cocktail hour to a flurry of snow falling from the sky and the entire room was decorated in cool blue and warm amber. The ensuing result felt like sitting by a warm fireplace on a winter day; inviting, cozy, warm, and cool at the same time. At one point in the evening the bride shared a special dance with her brother and I noticed that the polished floor of the Merion was actually a fantastic reflective surface. I crouched down as low to the floor as possible and allowed that dynamic reflection to be a part of my final image. Keywords: Cinnaminson (6), current portfolio (75), new jersey (91), reception (148), The Merion (17), wedding (1294).
