As a photographer, Pine Hollow Country Club is one of my favorite wedding venues in NY. The club is nestled in the heart of Long Island and features a stunning layout perfect for weddings...and wedding photographers!
The Pine Hollow Country Club is a picturesque location that boasts an exquisite 27-hole golf course, gorgeous lakes, and a stunning country club. The venue features several ballrooms spacious enough to accommodate large wedding parties of up to 300 guests. The Grand Ballroom is the largest of the ballrooms and features a warm and welcoming ambiance perfect for wedding receptions. The venue also has an outdoor patio area with stunning views of the golf course and lakes.
The venue location is perfect for taking stunning wedding photos. Here are five of my favorite spots:
- The Golf Course: The lush greenery of the golf course provides a stunning backdrop for wedding photos. The course has several bridges and water features that add elegance to your photos. I love how the paths wind and slope - just beware of passing golf balls!
- The Lakes: The venue features two stunning lakes that provide a serene and romantic backdrop for photos. The lakes are perfect for capturing intimate moments and creating a peaceful and calm atmosphere. They're a bit away from the main building itself, and add a different backdrop to the rest of your images.
- The Grand Staircase: The grand staircase in the main ballroom provides a grand and elegant setting for stunning first look portraits and couple photos. It's one of my favorite places EVER for a first look, and is easily on my top ten "seriously best staircases ever" list.
- The Outdoor Patio: The outdoor patio area provides sweeping views of the golf course and lakes. The patio is perfect for wedding party or family outdoor photos. I also love the stone steps that lead down to the golf course from the patio.
- The Club's main lobby area and sitting rooms: Modernized gorgeously in recent years, these are bright, gorgeous rooms with billowing curtains and huge windows. I've photographed everything in there from bridal portraits to wedding parties to family formal groupings. The images above of the bride alone in front of a tall window were taken in those rooms!
In addition to Pine Hollow Country Club, several other locations in the nearby areas are perfect for taking wedding photos. Here are four of my favorites:
- Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park: This park is just a few miles away from Pine Hollow Country Club and features stunning gardens, greenhouses, and historic buildings. It is a great place to visit if you want a peaceful and relaxing environment.
- Old Westbury Gardens: This stunning location is a short drive from Pine Hollow Country Club and features 200 acres of formal gardens, fountains, and lakes. For example, the lush gardens of Old Westbury feature a walled boxwood garden, an English perennial garden and a formal rose garden.
- The Sands Point Preserve: This scenic location is just a few miles from Pine Hollow Country Club and features dreamy gardens, a castle, and waterfront views. For example, the Guggenheim Estate is a historical landmark situated on the grounds, which was designed by the same architects who designed the Guggenheim Museum in New York City.
- The Hempstead House: This historic mansion is located in Sands Point and features stunning architecture and views of Long Island Sound.
In conclusion, Pine Hollow Country Club is a really lovely venue that has oh-so-many backdrops for creating dramatic wedding photos. From the lush greenery of the golf course to the grand staircase, there are countless photo locations.
