Stonover Farm is an amazing property located in the Berkshires in the town of Lenox, MA. No detail has been overlooked, from the quaint duck pond to the suites offered to the guests, this venue hosts a small number of weddings per year. One of the fantastic things about Stonover is that they allow you full access to the property for three days before your wedding. Being able to be on the property for a few days before your wedding will enable you to spend time with guests who have traveled, to host a rehearsal dinner without having to go off-property and be able to enjoy all the charm and all the amenities Stonover offers.
Stonover allows for amazing photos at every turn from the guest quarters to the barn. Each nook and cranny of the guest facilities The Rock Cottage and The Schoolhouse is full of light and is meticulously decorated to complement the aesthetics of the space. Getting ready photos are a joy in every room, and there are multiple great locations for photos if you are interested in doing a first look before the ceremony.
Stonover not only has one of the prettiest settings in the Berkshires during the summer and fall months, but they’ve also done a marvelous job making the property look rustic, yet chic. You don’t have to be a “farm person” to want to be married here. Even though the property is quite large, it has the feel of a “backyard wedding” throughout.
With the help of a professional planner, Stonover allows you to design the palette of your wedding by allowing full access to the barn, the pond, the main cottage, an inside art gallery and a field located across the street. Even in the event of inclement weather, you have lots of choices on where to hold your vows and then to dance the night away in the barn.
The restored historic barn is beautiful, spacious and has light pouring in from well-placed windows high up which a lot of barns turned wedding venues do not have; much care has been taken by the owners to see that this barn is comfortable and picturesque. Bistro lights are tastefully strung in the rafters inside the barn, and Edison lights encircle the perimeter of the barn which gives a warm glow as evening falls. Guests spend their time mingling outdoors near the pond, by an evening bonfire, or dancing inside the barn.
I love venues that offer so many different areas for photos because it does not require the wedding couple to take significant time away from their guests and party, while still getting fantastic photos. Steps away from the barn are stone walls, mature weeping willow trees, and large, open barn doors. The photos ops are endless at this beautiful curated location, making Stonover Farms an excellent choice if you are looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of NYC without having to go a world away for an elegant, outdoor wedding.
