Have you photographed weddings here before?

Why do you recommend it?

As a professional wedding photographer, I am always excited to work at unique and picturesque venues like Wave Hill in the Bronx. Located in the charming town of Riverdale, Wave Hill is a 28-acre public garden and cultural center. It offers a stunning setting for weddings and other special events.

Wave Hill has a rich history dating back to the early 1800s when it was a private estate. Over the years, the property was home to prominent New York families and played a significant role in the region's horticultural history. Today, it is a beloved community resource that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Wave Hill is a magical wedding venue. The venue offers several locations for ceremonies, including the Pergola, which features breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. In Wave Hill House's historic Great Lawn, Lower Lawn, or Kate French Terrace, guests can enjoy cocktails after the ceremony. Wave Hill House's terrace is covered with a three-season semipermanent tent for two-thirds of the year.

In Armor Hall, seated dinners can accommodate 130 guests if a small band and dance floor are included in the plans. The capacity increases to 180 seated guests if the dance floor is located in the adjacent Mark Twain Room. Weather permitting, al fresco dining is also available on the Lower Lawn.

Here are ten popular locations at Wave Hill that make it an exceptional wedding venue - and an excellent place for wedding photography:

  1. Pergola - Located at the highest point of Wave Hill, the Pergola offers spectacular views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. The Pergola at Wave Hill is a stunning and picturesque location on the property. It is a long, covered walkway with arches and pillars adorned with climbing vines and flowers. The space is a popular location for wedding ceremonies and family photos due to its natural beauty and breathtaking views.

It is located on the lower part of the property, and visitors can access it by walking down a winding path through a wooded area. The garden features a variety of aquatic plants and flowers, such as lotus, water lilies, and irises. These plants add vibrant pops of color to the serene pond setting. The pond is surrounded by a wooden deck, which provides a peaceful place for visitors to sit and enjoy the garden. The sounds of trickling water from a small waterfall add to the calming atmosphere. As a photographer, I am experienced in capturing the natural beauty of Wave Hill and its surrounding landscape. One of the skills that set me apart from other photographers is my ability to create stunning images using natural light. Wave Hill has gorgeous natural light that is the perfect companion to my style of photography. It also has wonderful locations for theatrical compositions, another thing I am particularly good at. Once night falls, my style of lighting is again perfect for this unique venue.

In summary, Wave Hill is a one-of-a-kind wedding venue that offers a beautiful setting for couples who want to celebrate their love surrounded by nature and history. With a variety of stunning locations for ceremonies, cocktails, and receptions, there are endless possibilities for creating a truly memorable day.
