The absolute most important thing to me when photographing a wedding is to make my clients happy.
I strive to make them look beautiful in the photographs, to document the naturally occurring moments between the couple, their friends, and their family, and to handle all requests from family members and friends to the best of my ability.
At this gorgeous wedding reception at the Inn at Erlowest in Lake George, New York The bride’s mother requested that I photographed the wedding bands with a glass of champagne. I wanted to accommodate her request all doing it in a beautiful manner consistent with the style of photography my clients have come to expect from me.
I took the glass of champagne and the wedding rings out on to the back deck where cocktail hour had been held at the Inn at Erlowest. My assistant and I gathered the small tea lights left behind from cocktail hour and grouped them on the table underneath the glass of champagne. My assistant then dropped the rings into the glass and I waited until the bubbles began to subside to photograph the scene with my 105mm macro lens.
The result is an image that satisfied the mother of the bride’s requests while still illustrating what I can do as a photographic artist. It is extraordinarily important to me that I keep my clients happy because customer service is the most important foundation of any successful business.
