Highline Wedding Photography

With all of the excitement surrounding a bride on her wedding day sometimes it is easy to forget that the groom is equally as important. I love having a few moments alone with the groom on his wedding day to create a compelling portrait of him. On this particular grooms wedding day we took his individual portrait on Manhattan’s iconic Highline. I chose to photograph this portrait with my 70-200mm so that I could create a beautiful compressed look to the final frame. The compression of the 70-200mm took the simple scrubby bush that I chose as my backdrop and transformed it into something different. I made sure that the light was coming from behind the groom so that it would illuminate his hair and shoulders. This lighting technique also helped in separating the groom from the background. Keywords: current portfolio (75), David Tutera (17), groom portrait (5), HIghline (7), Indian (61), manhattan (191), new york (503), Skylight West (17), wedding (1294).
