Rangefinder Magazine

My whole business changed in 2008. I had been a wedding and portrait photographer based in Tallahassee, Florida since 2001, but in the summer of 2008 I relocated to Brooklyn, New York. It was a massive change, both personally and professionally. I owned a gorgeous, whitewashed studio in the downtown Tallahassee area and had the most wonderful, vivacious, efficient studio manager working alongside me daily. I shot portraits in my studio and destination weddings up and down the Florida coast. When I moved to New York my entire business focus changed. No more was I driving from Tallahassee to Naples, Palm Beach, and the Gulf coast. Now I was shooting weddings from Philadelphia to Connecticut and everywhere in between. Gone were the beaches, replaced by hotels and catering halls. I absolutely love living in the northeast now….but I do miss the beach! In 2009, I was featured in Rangefinder Magazine, and the feature heavily discusses my move from south to north. Rangefinder is a fantastic monthly photography magazine, catering to portrait and wedding photographers. I was interviewed by the lovely Martha Blanchfield for the article and she did a wonderful job detailing the move of my business, my plans for the future, and the inner workings of my mobile studio. I love looking back on that article and seeing how things have grown and changed since 2008. I love working in the New York and Philadelphia areas and while I do still miss the beaches on 30-A, I love living in the northeast and shooting weddings here! Keywords: bitter end yacht club (4), hagen (15), virgin gorda (5), wppi (21).
