Out of the many, many factors that go into choosing a wedding venue, a location to take your wedding day pictures is a huge point of consideration. If you choose to get married at a particular place, is there a great location nearby? On site? Within driving distance?
The bride and groom from this particular Old Field Club wedding started their day by getting ready in the city. They had a gorgeous church ceremony in Astoria, and then hit the road for East Setauket. The plan was to take pictures on the beach before the cocktail hour. Unfortunately, sometimes rush hour traffic has other plans, and we arrived to the Old Field Club with only moments to spare!
Despite being pressed for time, this wonderful couple stayed cool and calm. The sun was setting over the swim club, and we had a few brilliant moments by the water before going back to join cocktail hour.
If you're trying to find a Suffolk County wedding venue that has a brilliant location for portraits nearby, you have a lot to choose from at the Old Field Club. My favorite place might be that swim club beach. It's a private beach with views of the Long Island Sound, and there are charming pastel cabanas right by the water that make a great backdrop for wedding day portraits.
Then you have the Old Field Club itself. There are gorgeous outdoor areas to take pictures there, and the beach club is just a short drive down the road.
