I have loved theatre my whole life.
There is never a time that I didn't love dance. Acting. Broadway. Tiny black box theatres. Intimate dance concerts. Huge splashy productions. Tiny Shakespeare festivals. Everything and anything theatre has led my life as an artist from a young age.
I went to school for acting, obtaining a BFA in Theatre. I danced for years, everything from ballet to tap to modern to musical theatre. I have performed in plays, musicals, dance recitals, and even theme parks (yes, ask me sometime about my summer job in theme parks while I was in college, should we ever meet in person!).
It is only natural that my love for all things theatre and dance would lead me to photographing dance and theatre in my professional life. I have photographed performers from Broadway productions such as Hamilton, Cats, Mean Girls, Bandstand, Groundhog Day, Frozen, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello Dolly, The Band's Visit, SpongeBob Square Pants, and so many more. I have worked with dancers from So You Think You Can Dance. I have photographed college students, seasoned professionals, veterans of the industry, and those just breaking into the craft.
If you are looking for a theatre or dance photographer in New York, I'd love to talk to you. I'd love to hear about your production, and talk with you about how to best document it to meet all of your specific needs. I look forward to talking to you soon!Filename: 76_100416_RickyUbeda.JPG. 1/80; f/16.0; ISO 4000; 40.0 mm.
