There is something so special about a Ritz Carlton Philadelphia wedding. Located conveniently right next to City Hall, and close to Independence Hall and the iconic Liberty Bell, this beautiful Center City hotel is a wonderful wedding and reception venue.
I love the massive Grand Ballroom, with it’s delicate chandeliers and gorgeous marble columns. I also love the charming Petite Ballroom, with it’s huge windows and soaring ceiling.
The Exchange is another great space at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia, perfect for dinners and wedding receptions.
I love shooting in the beautiful Rotunda, as well as on the Arden and Mellon Balconies.
Another thing that I truly adore about the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia is their actual hotel rooms, especially the suites. The light is always lovely, and the rooms are so beautiful for the getting ready images at the start of the wedding day.
At this stunning 2014 wedding, the bride asked for a few images of her alone, in her veil, before putting on her gorgeous wedding gown. I posited her precisely, so that the light from the window gently skimmed across her face before settling into shadows.
I love the softness of her veil and how it mirrors the softness of her pose. I love her wedding dress hanging in the window. I love the juxtaposition of light and shadow in the image. Mostly I love this bride, who was sweet, fun, funny, and up for anything. A great deal of the heart in our images comes from the beautiful subjects in front of our lenses, and this woman was truly beautiful, both inside and out.
