Shooting my first Rose Bank Winery wedding was a massive pleasure. The bride was the sister of one of my favorite clients of all time, and it was a tremendous joy to spent the day with some of my favorite people! It was also a great joy to shoot at the Rose Bank Winery, a really excellent gem right in the heart of Bucks County. The wedding ceremony itself was held elsewhere, but the reception took place in the Rose Ballroom. The Rose Ballroom is rustic perfection, with huge windows and space for over two hundred and fifty guests. I also had the pleasure of working in the Buckman Barn during the portrait session of the day, which also has the same distinct rustic charm. Before the ceremony, and before heading to Rose Bank Winery, we started the day at the bride’s home. I always love shooting the getting ready portion of the day in a clients’ home, since the surroundings will be meaningful to them in the photographs. Hotels can be gorgeous, but getting ready in your own home is something that can’t be matched. The bride’s absolutely incredible Vera Wang gown had been hung in one of the living room windows for a few photographs, with her beautiful fur coat hanging in the other. The bride’s son (who is one of the cutest children I’ve ever seen!) came into the room and sat down to look at his mother’s wedding dress. I just think about how this family will look at this image in the years and decades to come! I am so honored to have been there to see this fleeting moment, and so pleased to have been able to document it for clients that I adore so completely. 1/160; f/2.0; ISO 3200; 35.0 mm.
