I had never photographed at the Surf Club New Rochelle before 2015, and I already can't wait to go back!
It can be difficult to find truly unique wedding venues, but the Surf Club on the Sound is absolutely a unique space. I highly recommend it to anyone was looking to get married in the New Rochelle area.
We started the day at the Ritz Carlton of White Plains, and then moved to the Church of the Annunciation in Crestwood, New York, for the wedding ceremony.
I highly recommend this Ritz Carlton for any bride or groom getting ready in White Plains. The hotel rooms are beautifully appointed, and have gorgeous light. It is a wonderful location for you to stay the night before and the night of your wedding. It is also a wonderful location to select a room block, so that your family, friends, and wedding party can stay near your wedding venue.
It can oftentimes be difficult to find the right hotel to select for your wedding room block. I know that if you choose the Ritz Carlton White Plains that you will be extremely happy, and so will your family and friends!
After the wedding ceremony in Crestwood, we headed to Glenn Island Park, near the gorgeous Glenn Island Harbour Club, for some portraits of the bride, groom, and wedding party.
I always love it when time permits for us to take wedding day photograph in between the ceremony and reception. Not all brides or grooms want to do a "first look" before their wedding ceremony. Having a bit of a break between your ceremony and reception will enable you to have plenty of time to take wedding day photographs without having to see each other before your ceremony.
Glenn Island Park is an extraordinary location to take wedding day photograph if you are getting married near the Surf Club of New Rochelle. The light in the park is beautiful, and the photographic locations are endless. We can take your family portraits here, and it is also a wonderful location to photograph your wedding party. Not only that, it is a beautiful park in which to photograph the wedding couple together.
I have photographed wedding day portrait at Glenn Island Park at all times of the day, in all seasons. I have photographed there with snow on the ground, and in the heat of the summer. It has always been a wonderful experience, and my wedding clients have always loved having their photographs taken in this particular New Rochelle park.
After portraits at Glenn Island Park, it was finally time to head over to the Surf Club New Rochelle.
The Surf Club on the Sound has two ballrooms, The Penthouse and The Grand Ballroom. Both have gorgeous views of the Long Island Sound, and both are equally warm and inviting.
I love this image because it encapsulates everything that I love about wedding photography. There is warm, beautiful, dramatic light on the mother and daughter. There are gorgeous background elements, from the gentle curves of the Vera Wang wedding gown to the vertical lines of the drapes. There is a genuine, naturally occurring moment happening.
All of those elements combined with technical skill to capture the image.
This was such a fleeting, quick moment, and I was so glad to be there to document it for this mother and daughter!
As an aside, how awesome is the flower girl's headband? I loved it! This bride dressed her flower girls in simple black leotards and huge tulle skirts, with great hair and fantastic headbands. I loved the whole look!
