For non-New Yorkers unfamiliar with the Hamptons and the long drive on the LIE out to the beaches, the North Fork is where you end up when you take a left instead of a right at the end of Long Island. You'll end up in a dreamy wine country that you didn't know existed, a sweet small-town oasis and a spectacular getaway destination.
I absolutely love the North Fork hotels, they're mostly renovated old motels and now have the most charming retro feel. Favorites include the Sound View Greenport, the Duncan Inn, Greenporter Hotel, and the Silver Sands Motel.
Oh, the food! The North Fork has some excellent restaurants, and even some amazing food trucks (I highly recommend the North Fork Food Truck in the parking lot of the North Fork Table & Inn!). You should also eat at American Beech, visit the Kontokosta Winery, and taste wine at Croteaux and Coffee Pot Cellars.
Amongst all of the incredible locations in the North Fork, Vineyards at Aquebogue is at the top of the list. With spectacular food, gorgeous landscapes, and sweet vineyards right on site, this is wedding venue not to be missed.
If you're considering the Vineyards at Aquebogue for your wedding location, or if you're already planning your wedding there, I'd love to hear from you!Black Diamond Ranch (3), Tampa (5), Vineyards at Aquebogue. 1/1600; f/4.0; ISO 200; 105.0 mm.
