Inspired by the history of New York City itself, the Public was built by all people to welcome and inspire all people. Their mission to create joy, art, and fabulous events have an equitable approach where every detail and every moment matters. They have multiple show-stopping venues where couples can work with professional event staff, outstanding and unique décor, and state-of-the-art technology to bring their wedding day vision to life with magic.
Absolutely nothing says New York more than stunning 360-degree views of the city skyline perched 17 floors up, which is exactly where your guests will be when you have your wedding at the Sophia at Public. The floor to ceiling windows provide uninterrupted vistas and fill the space with natural light, which is perfect for capturing details and portraits. Sophia has an open floor plan allowing for formal dinners, a large dance floor, or a ceremony. Adjacent to Sophia is a pre-function space perfect for a cocktail hour or just for mingling during the reception, which is fitted out with comfortable seating for guests to relax in.
Perhaps the only thing more spectacular than views of the city is standing almost eye level to it. When you hold your cocktail hour or your reception at the Ave & Sunrise Terrace, friends and family will enjoy dinner in the open air with unfettered rooftop views of all of New York City. This private space offers 1,500 square feet of both indoor and outdoor options with an open, versatile layout.
The Public Kitchen is the heart of the fine cuisine created by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, which is inspired by local markets and the seasons. The menu offered throughout the Public is based on organic green market fruits and vegetables, as well as locally sourced organic meats. The Public Kitchen is also a cozy, intimate space for hosting a cocktail hour or small reception. A private bar and floor-to-ceiling windows with French doors that open up to the large outdoor terrace flood the seated areas with tons of light and make the space feel open and airy. Inspired by the Tuileries Garden in Paris, with accents of Italy, The Bowery Garden is vibrant with climbing ivy and lush greens immersing guests in this sanctuary in the city.
Taking a slice of New York City night-life is the newly designed Public Arts space. From the private entrance off Chrystie Street to the multi-level nature of the venue over the dance floor, the bistro tables and tufted lounge furnishings are inviting perfect for friends and family to party the night away.
